During such an organisational change, it is very important that management and staff remain closely in touch in order to promote mutual understanding, motivation and staying power. For this reason Peter Bütikofer & Company proposed that, instead of using the usual newsletters and emails, the entire internal communications fom management should take place via audio data, which were made available to listen to on the Intranet.
Regular interviews with management then dealt with various subjects connected with the transformation. This type of communication channel was valued by both managment and staff for its ease of use and the personal touch it effected. Staff found the news programmes a welcome change in their daily routine and the discussion format made it possible for management members to subtley repeat core messages over time, thereby communicating effectively.
